Paso Robles Recommendations

Coffee Shops

Just down 12th Street while on your way to the square, this modern and hip coffee shop has great artisan coffee, tea and treats.

Located on 13th Street, this welcoming and charming coffee shop is a great place to read your morning paper or stop by for a quick breakfast  They also offer music on Friday and Saturday nights, typically Jazz..

Restaurants:

Dinner

One of our favorites and located just off the square on 12th Street, this restaurant has a great food, wine and drink selection. We love to sit at the bar to get the inside scoop from the locals. If you are planning to go on a weekend night make sure you make a reservation ahead of time!

A popular spot on 13th Street, this restaurant has specials each night of the week that are sure to sell out. Check out their website ahead of time to pick which night you want to go based on the special. Their fried chicken on Monday is a local and personal favorite! We also recommend making reservations ahead of time!

Known for being one of the best restaurants in town, this fine-dining favorite is located just a block down the street on 12th next to the Piccolo Hotel. They serve high-end Italian food that will leave you full but somehow wanting more. Reservations area must!

Just south of the Paso Robles Inn on Spring Street, is another well-loved Italian restaurant. The staff is very friendly and the food is great, as well. as always, get your reservations early!

For ribs, you can't beat Jeffry's. Tucked away in the alley between 12th and 13th Street, they have the best BBQ in town. We also highly recommend their Paso Mac & Cheese, which has won several cook off awards for many years. They don't take reservations, but mid-week is usually less crowded.

On the corner of 13th Street and Park, this restaurant has great Mexican food with a fish flare. They also have great mixologists and killer margaritas. They do not take reservations, so we suggest going mid-week if you want to avoid crowds.

If you are looking for a red meat fix, this is your spot. Located in the Paso Robles Inn, this restaurant has a following.

Restaurants: Breakfast & Lunch

This charming cafe is home to some of the best breakfast and lunch in town. Whether you are getting a to-go pastry in the morning or sitting down for casual lunch, this spot is one of our favorites.

This is the best deli in town and is located on the east side of the main square. You can either eat here or if you want to plan a picnic, we recommend going online and making selections for pick up. I love the Begg'n (bacon on egg salad with BBQ sauce...sounds weird but tastes great!) They also have great salads, as well.

Located on Spring Street, at the south end of town, this is a local favorite. On weekends it gets busy for breakfast, so expect to have a small wait.

This is another local favorite. It is located at the corner of 14th and Pine and an easy walking distance from the house.

Bars

Located on the rooftop of the Piccolo Hotel, we recommend having a drink here for sunset. Plan arriving an hour before the sun is scheduled to set, as the sun sets behind the hills about 30 minutes prior. While closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, they make a great Old Fashioned and have $4 off wine and cocktails beginning at 3pm every Wednesday.

This speakeasy, located behind Pappy McGregor's on the east side of the square, has great ambiance and even better cocktails. It is small so there can be a wait on the weekends, so we recommend going during the week.

If you like "the coldest beer in town" and shooting pool this is a local hangout. While less sophisticated than some other spots in town, it is a good old-fashioned dive bar and local favorite.

Entertainment

Just south off the square on Pine Street, they have music on Friday and Saturday nights. Look on their website for the upcoming entertainment schedule.

This tasting room located on 13th Street, between Pine and Park, has entertainment on weekend nights, as well.

On a Friday evening, after starting your evening at Pony Club, we recommend heading over to Thomas Hill to enjoy wine, desserts and listening to the talented pianist Corey Jordan.

Things To Do

Kiler Ridge and Pasolivo are great places to learn about and taste different olive oils.

Just a short walk from the house and we love to go when we are in town. You may see Zarmeena there, who runs Dilécta Wines, and you will feel like locals!

If you enjoy playing Pickleball, stop by Centennial Park Mondays through Saturdays between 7:30-11:30am. It is a $3 donation to play for visitors, and everyone is very welcoming. For beginners, enter at the far end of the courts, as the near side are the courts designated for more advanced players.

Just a 30 minute drive to the west just down highway 46 to PCH. Towards the south end of the town there are tons of sand dollars that can be picked up along the dog-friendly beach. In town, the Cass House has a great bakery and Luna is a good breakfast spot. There are also several antique stores and other lovely shops downtown.
